The town of Ferozepur Jhirka lies in the District Mewat in the Indian state of Haryana. The names of some renowned personalities of the town are Choudhry Mohd. Hayat Khan, Choudhry Burkat Ullah Khan and Raja Feorz Khan Khanzada. The town has 60 panchayats and 60 villages. This area lies in Mewat District’s border and Bharatpur Dist. History of Ferozepur Jhirka

The town was transformed into an enormous Estate or “Riyasat” by Makhdoom Tahir and Abu Mohd. Some historical facts also reveal that Qazi Gulam Mustafa, who was a famous personality of the town and was privileged by Bahadur Shah I, was a very close relative to these 2 men. Mustafa tied the knot with the daughter of Qazi Syed Rafi Mohd., Bibi Rasti. The son of Ghulam Mustafa and Bibi Rasti, Ali Asghar, was given the title of Emperor Farrukhsiyar. Ali Asghar was initially posted in Moazamabad as “Faujdar” at the Khidmat Daroghgi Armory located in Multan. Thereafter he became “Naib Subahdar” in Patna at Azimabad. Finally he was posted as “Subahdar” in Awadh throughout the rule from Farrukhsiyar to Mohd. Shah. He also constructed a fort in Ferozepur Jhirka. He expired at Shahjahanbad in Delhi. Ghulam Mustafa was also related to Islam Khan V who also hailed from Ferozpur Zirka.

Earlier the town was under the Gurgaon district; however in the Gazette Notification of Govt. of Haryana in 2005, 4th April, the town was taken under the district of Mewat. Ever since, the town of Ferozepur Jhirka is considered to be a sub-division of the Mewat district. Summers are hot and the minimum and maximum temperature ranges between 23 degree Celsius and 46 degree Celsius. In winters the minimum temperature remains between 7 to 8 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature remains between 14 and 20 degree Celsius.
